Although there are many different types of bingo that are played at this point in history, around the world, most people end up playing either 75 ball bingo or 90 ball bingo. Those living in Canada or the United States will most likely be familiar with 75 ball bingo since this is the most prominent form of the game played in those two countries in either bingo halls or casinos that offer this game. No one can be sure exactly why the 75 ball system gained such a strong following in these countries, but historians speculate that it is simply a traditional way of playing the game more than anything else. Aside from the obvious differences in ball count, both varieties of bingo differ very little aside from card style. In this version of the game, players will use a 5 x 5 sized card and in the middle there is a free space that they can check off at the beginning of the game if they wish to, intended to help them form bingo a little bit faster. While patterns will vary from game to game, such as a straight line or a specific shape the players must form, bingo is bingo and once it has been achieved the players win cash prizes just as they would in a 90 ball game. This is usually a bit faster style of game, but there is also an even faster version of 75 ball bingo known as Speed Bingo which takes place at a hyper pace and is played for thrills as well as prizes.

For those who live in Australia, countries in South America, European nations or the United Kingdom, it is 90 ball bingo that is going to be the most familiar form of the game. This style of play makes use of a 9 x 3 format game card, the same type that most online players will also be familiar with since the majority of online bingo sites originate in the UK. There are 3 rows and 9 columns on each card and each line will contain 5 different numbers. This means that each card has 15 different numbers for the players to watch out for during the game. The columns are numbered in sequences of 10 that range from 1 right up through 90. Due to all the numbers involved, 90 ball bingo is considered to be substantially more complex than its 75 ball cousin. Most games tend to be played in 3 separate stage. First, the players will attempt to form a single line bingo and then they will move on to try for 2 lines before finally attempting what is called a Full House, an effort to have 15 numbers checked off on their cards in order to call bingo. This final Full House stage is generally where the biggest prize is offered. That means most players spend the game hoping to win the final stage’s bingo prize, but of course there is plenty of fun to be had during the interim. There are a number of variations along this general style, but when it comes to 90 ball bingo, this is the most common way that the game is played.
